Chen zhen's works have truly restored the habitual way of thinking common among human beings in the context of social reality. He has overturned the problem of "sub-ideology" accumulated by traditional visual experience and clearly defined the channel connection and positioning between himself and his works.

CHEN ZHEN
Purification Room
Chen zhen (1955-2000 Shanghai) was one of the earliest installation artists in China. After studying painting in Shanghai, he went to Paris for further study in the 1980s and began to create extraordinary installation works with daily objects. Beds, cots, mattresses, bowling balls, and other things.
He explored the duality of life, the Yin and the Yang, and the differences between east and west. He created elaborate installations and projects around the world. He traveled to the slums of Israel and Brazil. He lived in New York, Paris and Shanghai. His understanding of Taoism was widely spread in the 1990s, testing his ideas on questioning people's relationships with the world around them.

CHEN ZHEN 'S BIOGRAPHY
陈箴（1955-2000上海）是中国最早的装置艺术家之一，先后毕业于上海工艺美术学校和上海戏剧学院。1986年赴法国留学，曾先后在巴黎国立高等美术学院和巴黎造型艺术高级研究院学习并任教。从1989年起，他在法国和世界各地参加了上百个个展和各种重要的主题性艺术展，为中国当代艺术在国际艺坛上的地位作出了独到贡献。
